Volunteers

Volunteers  are  sought  for the Library Books for East Timor Working Group. You can make a great contribution by joining the organising working group and/or by helping  on  the  day  of  fundraising events. Tasks include venue  set  up,  wine sales, preparation and serving of food and drinks and other  event tasks. Volunteering enables all funds raised from ticket sales to  be  sent  over  to  East  Timor.  The  trivia  nights are organised and delivered  purely on volunteer labour. Please see the contact us details if you are interested in helping. We’d love to hear from you.

Night.

Michael Byrne: I found it incredibly overwhelming to hear about East Timor and the conditions they face. The information Patti has gathered about the Timorese, their recent history and the reality of their lives has inspired me to become involved in fundraising activities such as the Library Books for East Timor Trivia Night. I found myself thinking hard and imagining what it would be like to have to rebuild a country that had been totally devastated by occupation and violence and the fact the that they are one of the poorest nations in the world. I wanted to offer support to the rebuilding efforts and so became involved as a volunteer to support library services in East Timor.
